EMPLOYEE TRAINING CENTER

FUNCTION OF THE APP
Training Center - MSHA Part 46 Compliance Hub

The Training Center serves as the centralized platform for managing all Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Part 46 training requirements at St. Mary's Cement Charlevoix plant. MSHA regulations mandate specific training hours and frequencies for surface mining operations, including 24 hours of new miner training within the first 90 days, 8 hours of annual refresher training for all employees, and task-specific training before new job assignments. This system consolidates training status tracking, certification management, and compliance monitoring into a single accessible interface that ensures no worker operates without current credentials and no regulatory deadline is missed.
Individual training status visibility empowers both workers and supervisors to maintain compliance proactively rather than reactively.
The platform displays current certifications, upcoming renewal requirements, and overdue training with clear visual indicators, eliminating the ambiguity that leads to lapses in qualification. Workers can view their complete certification portfolio including LOTO competency, fall protection, respiratory protection fit testing, and hazard communication training—all with expiration dates and renewal timelines visible at a glance. This transparency transforms compliance from a management burden into a shared responsibility where workers own their qualification status.
Beyond individual tracking, the system provides plant-wide compliance metrics that demonstrate organizational commitment to regulatory adherence and worker competency.
Real-time statistics showing overall compliance rates, days without injury, and total certified employees create accountability and celebrate safety culture achievements. The integrated training library and scheduling system streamline access to required coursework and hands-on sessions, reducing administrative friction that often delays critical safety training. This isn't about generating paperwork to satisfy MSHA inspectors—it's about ensuring every person on site has the knowledge and competency to work safely and respond effectively to hazards inherent in cement manufacturing operations.
