The IMS Compliance Matrix is a strategic compliance management tool that bridges MSHA regulatory requirements with ISO management system standards. Rather than treating federal mining regulations and ISO certifications as separate compliance silos, this application maps each CFR 30 requirement (Parts 46, 56, and 62) directly to corresponding ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 clauses. This integrated approach allows the safety team to demonstrate how existing MSHA compliance efforts simultaneously satisfy ISO audit requirements—eliminating duplicate documentation and revealing gaps where a single corrective action can address multiple standards at once.
